I am a Vainpot!?

One day my friend im me via msn....It went something like this

Friend: hey are you up for a challenge?
Me: What is that?
Friend: It requires courage
Me: Bring it on!
Friend: Wanna participate in Cleo Most Eligible 50 Bachelor shit?
Me: Huh? i'm not good looking at all wor, I can't lar.
Friend: It's ok one, they don't need good looking people, they need VAINPOT.
Me: ......
When I got home, I would like to see if I was really a vainpot. I did 3 things, checked my closet, checked my toiletries, and checked out the books I read...

To my surprise:

I have not less than 12 bottles of cologne, 2 sets of facial products, 4 cans of hair wax of which 3 of them are different variance and for different occasions, osme all over shampoos, moisturizer, lip balm, face mask, eye mask. Those in the picture are only 60%-70% of what I have.

In the picture, there are more than 20 t-shirts and they contribute to less than 30% of the number of t-shirts that I have; excluding tons of shirts, some suits, peacoat, trencoat, lether jacket, dozen of jeans.....ok enough...

And finally, these are the fashion magazines I have been reading for the past 2 months, Only fashion magazine, ezcluding online research. That stack of mag is as tall as 20"!

So guys, am I a vainpot?

Help! Help me to find my shirt!

Please help to me find my lovely T-shirt! Details as below:

Hello, Can I speak to Giorgio Armani?

If you are Stephen Chow fans, (No I'm not talking about CJ7) you would have watched "Love on Delivery - 破壞之王. The Judo instructor "Black Bear" invited Christie Chung to her house and she rejected and broke his glasses, then he yelled, My Armani glasses ar!!! (Ngo fu Armani ar!!!). So you should know how famous Armani is. No, I'm not talking about Armani suits, and the entire Armani clothing lines.Obviously not England team suits:

Germany World Cup 2006

Well, starting 2007, the official team suit tailor is Mark & Spencer. That's their problem, pick British because of British. No wonder they didn't make it to Euro 2008. But then again, I'm not talking about England also, it's this:

It's the Giorgio Armani phone! The phone is equipped with 3.0MP camera, with big ass 2.6-inch QVGA TFT screen, comes with microSD card slot, graphical user interface (GUI) and audio user interface (AUI) that reflect Giorgio Armani's modern simplicity. By adapting a haptical UI, users can feel an immediate mild vibration when they touch icons on the display. The power-packed GA Phone measures no bigger than the size of a credit card, with the thickness (is there a word called "thinness", coz it's not thick) of only 10.5mm. Yes, ladies, slim enough to fit into the pocket of your skinny jeans! The only thing I don't really like is that the phone is produced by Samsung :(

Yes, everyone loves Armani!

But hey look, while everyone is shouting for iPhone, iPhone, iPhone, don't be a follower go for Giorgio Armani Phone. To me, iPhone is just a another marketing gimmick or conspiracy like Intel CPU chips, hard disk drive, memory, etc. They are capable of producing super CPU for consumers but they prefer to rip us off bit by bit, slowly but surely. Same goes to iPhone, I'm sure next year it's going to be iPhone II or whatever. Well Giorgio Armani Phone, I'm sure you won't see another one so soon. If GA phone is what you're looking for, according GA, they are launching the chic lifestyle/household lines, which consist of cell phone (of course), fridge, lamp, TV, etc etc in 2008.

The GA phone is going to hit the shelf, or already hitting the shelf in Nov 2007 at Giorgio Armani's flagship stores and selected mobile phone shops in major European countries. So my dear fellow colleagues, go grab one when you're in Rome or Milan on coming company trip in December. Me no more money liao :(

Mr. Nuffnang Timothy Tiah is Hokkien Karaoke King!

This guy doesn't speak Cantonese, doesn't write Chinese but he can sing some kick ass Hokkian song. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Timothy Tiah aka Mr. Nuffnang (sorry I don'tknow how to rotate the screen, hahaha) >>>

since he's a damn good singer, we asked for an encore., and there you go

But instead of singing Jackie Wu and Landy's "Rooftop", it sounded like an Indian singing on top of the roof in one morning where he got hangover from samsu...can't freaking hearing what he sang! Anyway, we had loads of fun playing the TVB Super Trio game (trying to guess what song was Tim singing everytime he got hold of the mic).

Malaysia International Fashion Week 2007

M-IFW is here again! It will be held at KL Convention Centre from Nov 15 - Nov 18 2007. There will be showcase of some local designers/brands like Jonathan Cheng, Carven Ong, Tangoo, etc etc. I don't really like to go for event like this because those models are wearing some "unwearable" outfits for common people like us. Look at this:

OMG! Startrek by Key NG

How to wear la like this??!! But the are some designers worth checking out, ie Jonathan Cheng and Melinda Looi. If you have nothing to do this weekend, go down to KLCC and support our local fashion and designers.

for more information, log on to http://www.m-ifw.com/

Uniqlo: The Future of Tee

Uniqlo's Futuristic Storefront

If you are still buying a the of overpriced GAP/Banana Republic/Padini (yes Padini is definitely overpriced) shirt or T-Shirt, or whatsoever products, forget about it, you are so ripped off. Savesome of you money, visit Uniqlo in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, UK, even US (fyi, its Flagship store is located in New York’s Soho which is near the famous Broadway and Fifth Avenue. Some of you may not know that Uniqlo is actually the biggest casual wear chain in Japan.

A t-shirt is never just a t-shirt when UNIQLO is involved. Uniqlo launched its UT Project approximately 6 months ago, and the man behind the project was Kashiwa Sato Creative Director of Uniqlo. The first UT store was opened in Harajuku with the aim of bringing more than 1,000 designs per year.

Their concept is quite cool, each t-shirt style will be displayed on forms in stainless steel display cases, with the individual t-shirts packaged in clear plastic canisters resembling tennis ball cans. The t-shirts will be stored on open shelves, making the shopping experience truly unique and virtually self-service. Customers can just walk into the store, browse and choose their favorite designs, retrieve it from the vending machine like shelf (Japanese really like vending machines) and pay for it at the cashiers. With more than 5,000 square feet of selling space spread out over three floors and a fourth floor gallery space, the UT store will in essence serve as a shrine to this fundamental and favorite article of clothing.

"Give me a can of Asahi Beer"

"My owner kicks me out of the house!"

In celebration of the opening of the UT store, UNIQLO has launched the UT Project, a limited-edition collection of t-shirts designed by renowned artists, designers, photographers and musicians including Terry Richardson, Nobuyoshi Araki, Kai Khüne, Bjorn Copeland of Black Dice, Kim Jones, Peter Saville, Gareth Pugh, Solve Sundsbo, ECM Records, and many more. Wow, that sounds expensive. Wrong, each T-shirt costs less than RM45.00, yes less than RM45.00. I bought a few several months back.

Some of Terry Richardson's designs and the punk belowis Terry Richardson

In fact all Uniqlo’s products are selling at really affordable price, yet they don’t give you shitty designs. Check out www.uniqlo.com and you know I’m not bullshitting you. I got a pinstriped jacket at the price of RM135 (Normal Price).

So, the government should include this in the Ninth Malaysia Plan: Bring Uniqlo in and s othat we don't get ripped off! Eh, maybe no la after that shirt all got bocor and got holes one...

Happy 50th Brithday!

Gardens at Mid Valley

I was at Gardens last week. To me, it is just another KLCC, Pavilion, One Utama, etc, etc. There is nothing much to shout about. Too many premium brands and I wonder how ordinary Malaysians like me can afford those luxurious goods. WE NEED more affordable brands. However there are a few worth mentioning, like this:

I stumbled into the shop and was looking around. Suddenly a lady asked me, “hey, where did you get your Evisu?” I was like not bad hor got people asked me what I wear. I told her I bought it from UK. Then she asked, “Normally hor, Evisu quite tight one, why you can fit in one??” (What fat people cannot wear Evisu meh?). I told her my Evisu was Europe ED. (but even Japanese version also, there are slim fight and baggy fit). The next 10 minutes was a solely name droppings, from BAPE to Evisu to Mastermind, to CLOT, and back to 2%.

2% is a Hong Kong fashion brand but most of their outfits are designed by Japanese designers. I saw some of its clothes the last time I was in Hong Kong middle of the year. I did a price and check and the it was reasonable. I then did a quality check, not bad not bad. I was rushing somewhere so I didn’t have enough time to snap some photos of the clothes. I will do it when I go to Gardens this weekend. At least there are more choices for us now rather than buying some P***ni at ripped off price

Kimi the Flying Finn did it!

With the most unlikely chance of winning, Kimi Raikkonen has done it by claiming the Brazil Grand Prix and The World F1 Championship! He's the man, Iceman aka Flying Finn...

Real/Fake CLOT X Edison

I actually admire Edison, not during his early days. Like this:

His hairstyle reminds me of Eason Chan:

I started liking him when he changed his style. Honestly he can’t really sing, but he’s a better rapper and he has a bunch of cool musician friends like MC Yan, Han Jin, DJ Tommy, etc.

Ok ok, I’m not writing about Edison, but “CLOT”, his baby, a “spokesperson” for Hong Kong and East Asia fashion scenes. Loads of collabo with other top brands such as Clot X Fragment, Clot X Visvim, Clot X Be@rbrick, Clot X Base Control, Clot X Pepsi, Clot X Levis, and this:

Clot X Chow Sing Chi!!

As Clot’s popularity grows, so does the number of bootlegs and fakes. If you log on to Ebay especially Ebay HK, you will be able to find some limited edition Clot. The sellers allow buyers to buy in bulk some more. “Kung geng”? Do they know what “Limited Edition” is? Like 500,000 pieces, limited edition.

Edison got to “tulan” so he came out with 2 new Clot T’s. They are, Real and Fake.

Fake:

Real:
Ironically, the “Real” one looks fake with some cracked prints, while the “Fake” tee looks super real with puffy prints and real Clot logo.

Perhaps, he should come out with real and fake Edison, with the emphasized expression around his lips:

Real:

Real:

Fake, definitely fake:

Er, but according to The Real and Fake T's, the Fake one looks more real right? ;p

Anyway, if you are in Hong Kong, get yourself some CLOT at 53, Paterson Street, 2F/A, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong

Toy Watch - The Rolex of Plastic Watch

It’s really really been awhile since my last blog entry. No worries, the other 3 fellas in the video didn’t kill me ;p

The reason is that I think I haven’t found the direction of my blog, yet. Well, I realize I can’t procrastinate no more, so I will make it a fashion and food blog, and other “chapalang” stuff. Well, what should I talk in my first re-angled blog entry? Hmmm, ok, let talk about this:

Sweet!

Yes, it’s a watch, it’s not a toy, it looks like a watch, and it’s a toy? I’m confused, it’s Toy Watch. a toy that have been worn by many Hollywood celebrities lately. Just to name a few:

Jessica Alba
Lindsay Lohan
Madonna
Oprah Winfrey
Michael Jordan
Paris Hilton
and even Al Gore likes the toy...

"The Incovenient Truth about Toy Watch is, you can't get it in Malaysia...I have ordered toywatchusa not to ship to Malaysia!"

The Rolex inspired cheap plastic/nylon watch starts as low as USD150 (~RM525). The higher end’s models would cost around USD300 (~RM1, 050). Like many other watch brands, it has limited edition watches which would cost around USD1, 200 to USD1, 500.

Its strategy is simple, high-style, low-cost.

The nearest places we can get the toy are Thailand, Hong Kong and Japan. How come Thailand has it but we don’t? Malaysia tak boleh already like that!!

Give me the watch if not I'll kick your ass!!

I don't care, I don't care, my next watch will definitely be the Toy Watch, Oversize series...and not this:

So, my dearest friend(s), remember, Toy Watch Oversize series, any color will do ;p

The only problem is, I am not good at steaks, I may come out with something like this:

So, I need some tips, like step-by step guide, "simple tricks for a perfect steak", "Steak for Dummies" etc etc..So guys, please help me out! I'll bring home my "product" and share with the best contributor or better still, I'll buy you dinner at any of the restaurants listed below (only if I win ;p)
